Skate and Scooter Park with Safety First

Riders are all about pushing the envelope and getting higher, faster and more daring with every stunt.

As per State-enforced safety regulations, all Bunker Skatepark equipment is built by skilled engineers and meet stringent structural requirements – so your kids skate and ride safer on scooters, boards and bikes.

Falls, skids and tumbles are unavoidable, but we have in place some straightforward rules and practices so everyone can leave with a big grin – and all their teeth:

  • Waiver forms, parent/guardian information and photo I.D. is recorded at the beginning of every session
  • All riders are to wear helmets in the venue (available for hire)
  • Anti-social behaviour is not tolerated; poorly behaved riders will have their parents/guardians called and the rider removed from the premises
  • There will always be trained staff (crew) on site with Level II First Aid and CPR certifications for greater safety
  • At any one time there are at least 3 staff members on-site

For greater safety, we recommend riders wear wrist and knee guards to save their joints (and pants) the stresses of tumbles and skids.

To speed things up, you can download and print the waiver form and fill it out before your visit.

Skating for Health

It's getting harder pulling kids away from the computer and out into fresh air. With so many rules and laws affecting the use of community spaces skater, scooter and BMX riders are finding fewer places where they can safely expel energy.

Skating, scooting and bike riding can help your kids stay fit as it helps:

  • Condition core muscles
  • Build stamina
  • Develop strong bones
  • Improve balance and posture, and
  • Make them more spatially aware of their own physical limitations

Plus, it gives them a cheaper and easier way to commute around town knowing how to properly steer and stop.

All completely undercover, Bunk Skatepark is climate controlled so kids can scoot or skate from breakfast to supper-time regardless of the external weather conditions.
